Research - Organizations that help with global warming.
http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/global-warming/ - This organization is focused on renewable energy.
350.org - This organization works on raising awerness of global warming they get there name because that is what scientists say is the safe concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere ( 350 parts per million ) but we have passed 400 parts per million.
http://www.greenpeace.org.uk/ - This organization focuses on more than just the artic but also looks at : defending the oceans, protecting forest, air polution and much more ...
How I could design my website -
Like an Infograph, little pages like this for each topic
- what is global warming
- how to prevent global warming
- types of renewable energy
- how global warming is happening

neils toolbox is a website on how to get a reference on books, jornals and websites ect. http://www.neilstoolbox.com/bibliography-creator/
Facts:
- Global warming is the globe warming up because of more carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere than normal because of un natural causes eg cars and power plants wich is weakening up the ozone layer around the earth wich normally would stop sun flares hitting the earth but the co2 is breaking up the oz layer witch is letting more sun flares hit the earth so its heating up the earth and melting the ice caps.
- You can prevent global warming by doing the steps on these websites http://globalwarming-facts.info/50-tips/2/.
Some types of renewable energy are:
1) Solar Energy ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_power )
- is the conversion of sunlight into electricity
2) Photovoltaic Systems. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photovoltaic_system )
- A photovoltaic system, also solar PV powersystem, or PV system, is a power systemdesigned to supply usable solar power by means of photovoltaics.
3) Solar Hot Water. ( http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/domestic/solar-water-heating )
- Solar water heating systems, or 'solar thermal' systems, use free heat from the sun to warmdomestic hot water. A conventional boiler or immersion heater can be used to make thewater hotter, or to provide hot water whensolar energy is unavailable.
4) Wind energy. ( https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=solar+energy&oq=sola&aqs=chrome.1.69i59l2j69i57j0l3.1824j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=wind+energy+meaning )
- electrical energy obtained from harnessing the wind with windmills or wind turbines.
5) Geothermal Energy. Geothermal Electricity Production. Geothermal Direct Use. Geothermal Heat Pumps. ( http://www.technologystudent.com/energy1/geo1.htm )
- Geothermal energy is energy derived from the heat of the earth.
6) Bioenergy. Biofuels. Biopower. Bioproducts. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biofuel )
- Hydropower is used primarily to generate electricity. Broad categories include: Conventional hydroelectric, referring tohydroelectric dams. Run-of-the-river hydroelectricity, which captures the kinetic energy in rivers or streams, without a large reservoir and sometimes without the use of dams.

You have made a great start on your research here Tom, adding a print screen of the websites would be a good idea, also please finish off your notes about Neil's toolbox.
ReplyDeletePlease add more research, there are some good graphic resources in the LRC.
